My name is Jamie Hutson, I am a 2005 Graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. I grew up in Mystic, CT and just recently moved to Stamford, CT. I love music, sports, the ocean and technology.
I started my first business when I was 16, cleaning boats and diving for dropped valuables with my good friend Dave. Most recently I founded a locally based destination guide built around live music and restaurants, beginning in Saratoga Springs.
Today we are in 4 cities (Providence,RI; New Haven, CT; Albany, NY and Saratoga Springs, NY), we have over 300 small business clients and have provided over 1 million visitors a year with the information they (hopefully) wanted about our cities. I never set out to be the next facebook, but we think we’re pretty cool.
I spend most of my time working, I love what I do, and don’t consider much of it “work.” With my move to the NYC area, I’m becoming more involved in the blogging space. Local is my favorite - you never know what you are going to find, but browse my collection of linked blogs to get a feel for what fires me up. I’ve learned many interesting things in my short time here, and I started this blog to share these thoughts with the world. I recently changed the title of this blog to “Pursuing The Good Life Locally, Online” because its has been a very rocky ride but I’m not sure what is around the next turn.
This is my interpretation of the life I live in. As Seth Godin often refers to - My World. What I see, how I see it working, and where I see it going. Frequent interjections of humor may be found.
